I've always dreamed of spending a month trekking through the jungles of the Amazon to photograph the region's beautiful birds. Last weekend, I finally made that dream a reality, and now I'd like to take you along as I share my wildlife photography.
One of my most exciting discoveries was an unidentified bird species. It was truly stunning, yet I couldn't find any record of its name or genus. Even after describing it perfectly to Siri, there were no matches. Could it be that I’ve discovered a new species? That has been a dream of mine all morning!

Next, I’d like you to admire this stunning Ibis that walked into our camp. In this photo you can see our guide and another photographer whose name I forget.
Along with the Ibis, we were visited by this fellow. I free climbed a nearby cliff, camera in hand, in order to get a closer look, and to capture his majestic beauty. I looked up what kind of bird he was but I didn’t write it down so now we will probably never know.
Many of you will recognize this next bird, the Blue and Yellow Macaw. I captured this striking portrait against a completely natural sky. These macaws are well known for their ability to mimic speech, but when I repeatedly asked this one her name, she flew away.
You might be asking: Was it incredibly humid? Yes, it was, and it didn’t smell great either. Were there huge insects? Absolutely! I saw one large cockroach. Did we see any cool animals besides birds? Oh yeah! We spotted a dinosaur (see below). One of our group members even walked up to it and wrote his name on its leg.
Thanks you for joining me on this adventure. I hope that you learned as much as I did. It was full of many challenges, but when I look through these photographs I see that it was truly worth it.
Thanks, Travis
One hell of an Airbnb experience!
A fun report from the jungle. And now I know why the Ibis is that colour. Fortunately this does not happen to humans!
